Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The MENA Primary Logistics Invoice Controller will be responsible for standardizing primary logistic invoicing focusing on clearing agent invoice, freight invoice and custom duties invoice. He/She will be responsible for validating the invoices and ensure no duplication in charges. He/She will also be driving the agenda of reducing the clearing cost, ensure correct itemization of the charges and efficient invoice receipt / payment to supplier. Through the network of custom clearance officer in the OPC and the TCT in the Hub, that role will also challenge the rates of clearing agents and will deliver savings.

A day in the life of

- Responsible for receiving primary logistic invoices and validate them
- Work with Ocean and Land freight team to enforce the contract term and condition and remove duplication in charges
- Work with NBS to standardize the invoice receipt and payment process
- Work with clearance agent to standardize the itemization of the clearance invoice across the region
- Benchmark and challenge clearance charges across the region
- Work with shipping line / Clearance agent regional office on automation of invoice and payment
- Drive the agenda of process automation / simplification and use of 3PL service provider and NBS shared service
- Centralize the invoice receipt , validation and payment process
- Benchmark clearing agent charges across the region and identify areas of improvement
- Monitor GR/IR and Parked blocked invoices for on-time resolution of issues to avoid service disruptions
- Provide clarification/guidance to vendors/service providers for first time right invoice submission

Requirements

What will make you successful

- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or Computer Science
- Relevant operational experience at market/ business level, in the following areas is beneficial:
- Customer Service
- Customs Brokerage
- Documentation
- Clearance process
- Foreign Trade & Customs
- Finance: Business Planning, budget control, cost management
- Experience in the management of projects such as Tendering of Service Providers and Change Management of Service Providers
- Detail oriented and ability to learn and challenge
- Communication skills internally and externally
- Understanding of Free trade agreements
- IT Knowledge is a plus
