Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Under the guidance of our Terminal Manger, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the supervision and execution of the activities related to Terminal expansion project in Egypt. Candidate should be familiar with International and Local Design standards of flammable chemical storage terminals. Knowledge of design software and previous experience related to managing terminal project will be an added advantage.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the Primary Objectives as follows:

• Formulate and presentation of various design studies pertaining to Storage Terminal – tanks, piping, and related equipments as per NFPA, API and other international standards requirements.
• Responsible for reviewing of Drawings (Layouts, P&I D, Structural and process) and providing necessary comments for the discrepancy to standards.
• Review and access the Project Specifications, Drawings, Bill of Quantity and other Contract documentation and identify the engineering requirements for the Project.
• Work with other technical team on coordination and approvals of drawings between different packages.
• Compare project specifications with site conditions to assess the feasibility of successful execution of the project as per approved drawings and specified International standards.
• Supervise project progress through periodic site visits (Local and International) ensure that work is carried out in accordance with approved (design and planning drawings). Also spot any deviations and advise contractors for proper rectification.
• Take corrective actions when necessary and ascertains completion of project documentation, upon projects completion.
• Carry out site physical comparison to ensure that area of installation is in line with installation drawings as per the agreed specifications.
• Adept at writing technical reports and scopes of work and Technical Queries.
• Interface with other disciplines and with vendors, and required parties with project engineering input in support of activities in Terminal Design, component and structure of systems.
• Inspect materials, upon reception, to ascertain good working order and compliance with required specifications.
• Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors by encouraging the identification of inherent hazards and the application of safety systems for the execution of work.
• Report on the overall performance and work progress of tasks assigned.
• Prepare monthly reports including information such as activities undertaken and accomplished, recommendations and all other relevant Department's information.

This job will require frequent travel and stay in Egypt at our site for up to 20 days every month.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or Equivalent.
• Previous experience in Terminal Project handling will be an added advantage.
• Hands on experience on AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of NFPA , API, CDI-T, ISGOTT standards.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
• Assertive and strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines with attention to detail
• Ability to resolve issues and handle pressure with a positive outlook
• Ability to provide detailed reports.
• Fluent English speaking and excellent report writing skills.
