About the role
The Senior Project Manager leads the project team through the project by establishing governance that befits the needs of the project. They develop a plan that maximizes value to the stakeholders, ensure the execution of that plan and track the team's performance against it. The senior project manager ensures that the project is optimized to prioritize value within balanced constraints and manages expectations through complex environments.
- Define and oversee project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility for large-scale, complex projects. Ensure that any commitments made are feasible and achievable.
- Develop, maintain, and adapt detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and objectives.
- Organize project tasks and allocate resources, ensuring that significant projects are successfully delivered on-time, within scope, and budget.
- Implement and maintain the project governance structure, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and standards, adapting to the needs of each project.
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate change control processes and tools.
- Collect, rationalize, analyze, and utilize multiple points of project data to inform decision-making and drive project performance.
- Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance processes, ensuring project deliverables meet the required quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and resolve issues across significant or complex projects, maintaining a risk register and issue log.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders, managing their expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define, manage and realize project benefits, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and customer business needs.
- Ensure seamless project handover to operations, including training and support documentation.
- Responsible for the performance review of the PMs directly reporting to the senior PM in the project Org chart
- Responsible for providing feedback on the performance of all the resources working as part of the project to their line managers.
- Accountable for working with the line manager of the resources to develop the required performance improvement plan if needed.
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (predictive, hybrid and Agile), tools, and techniques with the ability to adapt and tailor governance arrangements to the needs of individual project needs.
- Ability to see the big picture and think strategically, to efficiently manage priorities as they arise
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Proficiency in using project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Excellent presentation skills towards senior and executive management.
- Ability to drive results across cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead, manage, set expectations, inspire and motivate team members.
- Persuasive and active listening skills to help the account team to explore upselling opportunities with the customers.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of Orange products and solutions.
