Role Summary:

This role provides outcomes research support for GE Healthcare's portfolio of products and services for the Africa market. It is based within the Global Outcomes Research team, which is part of the Global Marketing Value Propositions & Insights (VPI) Organization of GE Healthcare and will report to the Regional Director, Outcomes Research.

Essential Responsibilities:

- This role provides support for the commercial team with MOH account stakeholder relations and KOL development through collaborative research programs
- This role also provides market access guidance for the African team by monitoring payer policies and serves as a "content-expert" on reimbursement coding, coverage and payment
- Work closely with VPI Business Partner and region marketing and sales teams to prioritize GEHC products/solutions requiring impact measurement / outcomes research support and collaborate with teams on the development and validation of product/solution value propositions relevant for region customers to support region sales and market share growth business objectives
- Provide strategic market access guidance to the African GE Marketing team: assess the potential business impact of payment and policy changes
- Work cross-functionally with product marketing and commercial teams to translate payment and policy changes into customer-facing communication tools that further enhance GEHC consultative selling techniques
- Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with MOH and NGOs. Serve as market access "content-expert" on coding, coverage, payment and outcomes issues & opportunities for GEHC
- Work closely with the Outcomes Research franchise business partners on prioritized NPIs for the African region to communicate region customer unmet needs and evidence requirements
- Identify and execute region opportunities for outcomes research studies to generate evidence to demonstrate that GEHCs products/solutions improve clinical, financial or operational outcomes for our customers
- Contribute to the development of evidence generation plans and protocols to quantify outcomes supporting product value propositions
- Execution of outcomes research studies responsibilities includes developing study protocols and endpoints to quantify and prove the outcomes; identifying and managing external contractors or undertaking in-house execution of outcomes measurement studies, such as literature reviews, economic modeling, case studies, prospective studies and database analyses; supporting outcomes research customer engagements including obtaining customer data, defining customer needs and translating these into value propositions and evidence need; collaborating with the clinical research team to support evidence generation to demonstrate that GEHCs products improve clinical outcomes
- Work closely with VPI Business Partner and region marketing and sales teams to effectively communicate outcomes research plans and outcomes measurement study results undertaken by GE Healthcare and by other organizations to internal and external audiences; translate outcomes research study results into customer-facing tools and collaterals that effectively demonstrate and communicate the value of GEs offerings to customers
- Work closely with frontline sales team, commercial operations, downstream marketing and product specialists to train the sales team on product value propositions, supporting evidence and sales tools; obtain market feedback and develop/implement a process of continuous improvement
- Support the overall Value Propositions & Insights programme at GEHC, particularly supporting the VPI Business partners as they implement the programme and support the regional business needs
- Support and collaborate with other Marketing and Commercial Activation programmes, particularly Pricing to support region pricing initiatives and to understand customer value drivers and evidence needs to support differential pricing

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare discipline e.g. biological science, economics, health economics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related disciplines or equivalent knowledge or experience
- A minimum of 4 years industry experience in a health technology company, health consulting firm, etc.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive timely execution of outcomes research with proven track record of generating evidence
- Team player - ability to work effectively across a highly matrixed organization including senior executives: includes and motivates others to succeed towards business goals while taking ownership of execution
- Interfaces mainly with internal staff up to General Manager (GM) level
- Excellent interpersonal skills: successfully establishes rapport with a wide spectrum of personalities, maintains a professional image and credibility with openness and candor, asserts self when appropriate
- Collaborative working style and comfortable working with a virtual team
- Strong commercial acumen with a passion for helping payers, providers & policy makers solve their biggest problem
- Strong analytical, process and research skills: proven project management experience with a strong orientation to execution
- Excellent oral & written communications skills

- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

- In Nigeria: a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required (please indicate clearly on your resume)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree or post-graduate qualification in health economics, health services research, economics, business or related field or equivalent knowledge or experience
- External Focus: process knowledge of healthcare payers, providers & policy makers in USCAN
- Strong ability to build successful relationships with these stakeholders as well as KOLs & other influencers
- Previous experience in reimbursement strategy or government/ commercial payment policy
- Experience of driving outcomes research projects to generate evidence of value of GE offerings: from developing evidence plans to execution of studies
- Ability to generate original ideas for possible research projects, develop/utilize innovative solutions, ability to "think out of the box", step back and look at situations from different points of view
- Simplify strategy into specific actions with a clear solution focus, make decisions and communicate priorities; ability to sift through complex information and focus on the critical few priorities
- Experience in applying techniques of health economic evaluation to the area of diagnostic imaging and/or medical devices
- Understands customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends; considers the external impact of business activities and decision on customers, market/industry, investors, media, government and communities
- Ability to involve appropriate people to work effectively in a cross-functional, multi-cultural team environment; involves and motivates others to work toward team goals
- Experience working with and influencing within diverse and multi-national team
- Ability to interpret large amounts of information, e.g. from clinical studies, scientific papers, financial reports and in-depth market research studies
