Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Project/Dept.: Main line signaling projects
Job Location: PMO
Reports To: Senior Contract Manager/PMs

Job Purpose:
- Enhance the Project's commercial position through the use of contractual mechanisms in order to limit Thales exposure to risks and to maximize cost recovery.
- Manage commercial aspects of the project including change management, variations, progress payments and commercial submissions, in order to protect company interests and improve the financial result of the project

Roles & responsibilities:
- The Quantity Surveyor (QS) shall work closely with System Packages Engineer / Managers, and shall be responsible for Post Contract Administration not limited to Change Control Administration / Cost Reporting / On-site Measurement / Collation of supporting documents in relation to Claims.

In particular:

Changes:
- Support the negotiation of change orders and the identification of potential changes (variations).
- Review and contractually validate each Change Request and/or Change Proposal before forwarding for submission to the Employer.
- Maintenance of change management logs for specific project.
- Identifying and documenting change in coordination with the Design Managers and Project team.
- Preparing variation evaluations for all proposed variations / change orders in coordination with the relevant Project team members.
- Quantifying and estimating costs for all proposed variations / change orders.

Claims:
- Collection of all relevant cost data and information to support claim issues.
- Assistance in claim analysis and commercial evaluation of prolongation.
- Preparation of complete and comprehensive cost files to build the substantiation of prolongation costs.

Commercial:
- Prepare the monthly progress payment application with the client.
- Ensure quality and timeliness in delivery.
- Ensuring the highest professional standards, that all information is current.
- Support monthly cost reporting and input into project report
- Maintaining consistent and adequate administration procedures.
- Participate in Project meetings (internal and external: with the Employer, Thales's subcontractors and other entities) when scheduled and/or requested.

Requirements

Work Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years' experience as an SQS/QS in an international environment
- Affiliated with a recognized professional organization
- Previous experience on project of similar nature an advantage
- Knowledge and standing of FIDIC form of contract

Qualification & Educational Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree holder
