Job description

We are seeking a senior RF engineer to design, develop, and test discrete transmit/receive (Tx/Rx) RF modules for advanced radar applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF circuit design, system integration, and performance optimization, with hands-on experience in taking designs from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and develop discrete RF Tx/Rx modules for radar systems.
  • Conduct RF system-level analysis, link budget calculations, and trade-off studies.
  • Select and integrate components such as mixers, amplifiers, oscillators, and filters.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, and work closely with layout engineers to ensure optimal high-frequency performance.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, tuning, and validation of RF modules against specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering to ensure seamless product integration.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for performance anomalies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for design decisions, test results, and compliance requirements.
  • Compensation range: $99,100 - $128,800

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, factors including the role and associated responsibilities, location, market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training are considered.

  • Proficiency in RF simulation tools (e.g., Keysight ADS, HFSS, CST, or similar).
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCBA layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, PADS, Allegro).
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters).
  • Solid understanding of RF/microwave circuit theory, impedance matching, noise figure, and gain optimization.
  • Experience with PCB design for RF and microwave circuits.
  • Familiarity with military or aerospace standards for RF systems is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Skills

  • Knowledge of phased-array radar architectures.
  • Electronics packaging concepts.
  • Familiarity with thermal and mechanical considerations in high-frequency module packaging.
