Job Description

- Assist in the design, build, and management of Linux environments, including installation, configuration, and optimization of systems and services.
- Support the development and implementation of processes for containerization, orchestration, virtualization, automation, and monitoring of systems and services.
- Help ensure the availability, performance, and security of systems and services through effective monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in managing and maintaining databases, including installation, configuration, and optimization of database software and systems.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and processes under supervision.
- Provide support to senior team members and follow their technical guidance.
- Review procedures followed by users to determine if specified steps were taken.
- Explain user procedures necessary to transmit data.
- Read technical reference manuals for communications hardware and software to learn the cause of problems.
- Update documentation to record new equipment installed, new sites, and changes to computer configurations.

Technical Skills

- Basic experience in infrastructure, containerization, orchestration, virtualization, automation, monitoring, scripting, network, and database management.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Basic understanding of containerization orchestration such as Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM.
- Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Basic experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Basic scripting skills in one or more languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
