Job purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves leading the design and analysis of structural systems for a variety of projects, with a particular focus on precast concrete applications. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and efficiency of our projects while adhering to industry standards and project timelines.

Key accountability areas

• Lead the structural design process for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Analyze and calculate loads, stresses, and material strengths to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis tools (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS).
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs into overall project plans.
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, and reports prepared by junior engineers.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with structural designs.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in structural engineering techniques and materials, especially in precast concrete technology.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members.

Role accountability

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in structural design engineering. Reinforced concrete design is a must.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, ETABS) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ACI, Eurocodes, BS, PCI).
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Design of precast concrete is preferable.
• Perform value engineering.
