Sourcing Manager, Rigid & Specialty Packaging and External Manufacturing,MEA

Exciting career opportunity in the Procurement function, in the capacity of Sourcing Manager, Rigid & Specialty Packaging and External Manufacturing , MEA based in Cairo, Egypt BU .

Rigid & Specialty (R&S) Packaging and External Manufacturing (EM) is a part of Global Procurement Packaging and External Supply Spend Area. The Packaging side is responsible for strategic sourcing of MDLZ rigid & specialty packaging needs in MEA, both for FP manufactured in MDLZ-owned facilities and at Contract Manufacturers (CoMs). The EM side is responsible for cost effective sourcing portfolio of MDLZ branded finished products (FP) from "contract manufacturers" (CoMs) in compliance with Mondelez International food safety, quality and service level expectations.

The incumbent will be responsible for negotiating the full costs of: R&S packaging needed for MEA business, and FPs including raw materials, packaging, conversion, transport, capital expenditure and R&D costs. In some cases the spend between Packaging and EM will be intertwined in the same projects. The manager must understand production costs and market trends for raw and packs to negotiate the best cost for Mondelez International. The manager is responsible for the development and execution of projects to deliver productivity and incremental gross margin. Key focus areas for this role include, but are not limited to, portfolio analysis, sourcing strategy definition and deployment and stakeholder management, in order to maximize total cost of ownership savings. Working in collaboration with Powdered Beverage, Biscuits, and Chocolate Category organization, this role applies learnt business needs to develop regional market insights-, risks and opportunities and support delivery of regional goals whilst driving Procurement value contribution to Mondelez while ensuring compliance with policies, strategies and processes.

Various procurement tools including cost modelling assist in developing joint business plans with suppliers, creating bid events and performing effective negotiations are available to reach that goal. You may also onboard X-functional project teams to source and develop NPDs to grow Mondelez business.

Main Responsibilities:

Sourcing Strategy

- Support development and recommendation of, and execute Sourcing Strategies in line with the Business Unit Strategic Plan and Market Opportunities for the AMEA region. Proactively recommend adaptation of Packaging/EM sourcing strategies where necessary to ensure category/business requirements are met. Be proactive to support optimization within the supply network by leading sourcing studies and Make or Buy analyses.

Supplier Selection

- Lead the process of reviewing existing suppliers and searching for new suppliers, define and recommend a Supplier Base based on Suppliers capabilities answering business needs. Establish and maintain good working relationships with suppliers to build agreements that are compatible with local needs per single plant & SKU.

Buying Strategy

- Execute Sourcing Strategies to deliver productivity programs through Insourcing, Outsourcing, Bidding, co-development. Align with other Spend Areas and all other procurement functions in order to maximize Savings.
Drive change management processes by leading communication through Procurement and Category Stake Holders.

Buying Negotiations

- Manage preparation and planning of the negotiations for Packaging/CoM business agreements across the region. Conduct negotiations by employing appropriate techniques and leading cross-functional input. Lead and manage the negotiation of contracts to ensure Mondelez receives the best possible supply, quality, prices, scale leverage, terms and conditions to secure competitive advantage vs. the peer companies/competitors within the scope of responsibility. Ensure all quality, service and compliance requirements are met (e.g. specification management, audit initiation & tracking, CSR). Negotiate contractual terms of agreements.

Manage relationship with Suppliers & Co-Manufacturers

- Accountable for managing part of a regional Packaging/EM portfolio. Manage assigned suppliers & co-manufacturers to ensure flawless execution of projects and initiatives, and delivery of Mondelez requirements in terms of supply, quality, price and service.

Project Management

- Execute R&S packaging projects related with productivity, new packaging development & design changes with the support of RDQ team and Plant BD functions.
- Execute flawlessly, with support of EM BD functions, (on time and within cost) day to day operations and MOR approved projects for EM sourcing including product developments, packaging- and design changes. Develop and execute productivity initiatives by leveraging cross functional resources including Marketing, R&D, Quality and Supply Chain to implement CoM transfers, reformulation, raw and packaging specification optimization, production process changes, quality improvements and complexity

Requirements

Qualifications

- 8-10 years experiences in business, ideally within Procurement and/or Manufacturing.
- Experience of managing through multi-functional and multi-cultural projects and teams, preferred in FMCG.
