Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a GCR Associate, you'll make a technical contribution to client engagements and internal projects. You'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationship as well as specialize in coordinating the outsourced compliance work for Ernst & Young’s clients in Doha. The work would consist of contract management, deadline tracking, issue resolution, client relationship handling, and assisting with GCR proposals, including the pricing of multi-jurisdiction compliance work.

The role consists of the following main elements:
• Use of our web-based tool to track progress of tasks within client's tax and reporting compliance processes - involves understanding of the software package (which will be learned on the job) and ability to manipulate data extracted from this tool in Excel – the role will be responsible for reviewing reports taken from the tracking tool, identifying the need for follow up and ensuring serious or more urgent issues are dealt with quickly and escalated to manager when appropriate.
• Arranging and facilitating conference calls - understanding time-zone issues for multi-location calls, being sensitive to client and EY local office requirements - leading discussions on these calls to assist in resolution of issues.
• Identifying issues which need escalation to more senior EY or client team members and suggesting possible ways of resolving - will acquire an understanding/overview of the tax and reporting compliance processes across a broad range of jurisdictions.
• Creating and managing issues logs. Some of this relates to tax/reporting technical work – i.e. the tax returns/financial statements are delayed because of a problem re transfer pricing.
• Assisting with fee quotes and proposals - using a combination of a fee-gathering tool and e-mail/instant messaging/telephone, our team tracks down fee quotes from EY local offices for corporate income tax, indirect tax, statutory accounts preparation, bookkeeping, payroll. We have close links with our local offices, especially within EMEIA but also more widely.
• Taking on client "main point of contact" role ensuring good/prompt client service, responsiveness.
• Monitoring engagement economics and raising invoices to clients on a timely bassis.
• Supporting the engagement Partner/Manager with Quality and Risk issues, overseeing implementation and adherence to agreed processes, procedures and timetables.
• Supporting on business development activity, identifying opportunities for additional EY services and/or extensions to EY outsourcing services, and assisting with proposals including pitches, technology demonstrations and oral presentations.

We are looking for the following:
• Project Management skills.
• Experience handling large multi-location contracts would be helpful.
• Coordination and Prioritisation – self-starter, managing own workload, ability to work under pressure and to keep things moving – and to juggle multiple tasks.
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to work with large amounts of data.
• Ability to work across borders with a wide network of people – facility in a foreign language would be helpful but not essential.
