Job Purpose
Technical Design Architect Responsible for the technical leadership of cloud-based solutions within the organization. his main mission is to design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures that align with business objectives.
Handover Presales/Build phase
- Participates to the internal handover kick off and customer kick off meetings.
- Ensures the validation and accuravy of the technical information recieved by the presales and informs the project management to trigger the customer kick off.
- Provides the technical leadership of the solution for the duration of the contract.
- Accountable for all design aspects and solution implementation
- Leads the technical governance of the solution and advises on emerging technologies
- Carries out a regulatory watch.
- Recommends the rules and good practices to follow, informs about the regulations in force, guarantees their dissemination and sharing and alert on their non-compliance.
Defines the solution:
- Consider the different solutions blocks of the catalog to meet the functional and technical needs of the customer.
- Accountable for the correct operation of the solution with regard to customer requirements.
- Coordinates the contributions of experts and engineering teams to ensure the overall technical coherence and quality of the project.
- Validates the technical requirements and integration of the customer environment into the solution.
- Accountable for producing the technical documentation of the platform and keeping it updated. As such, he is accountable for the provision of High Level Design (HLD) and ensures the overall consistency of LLDs.
- Participates in risk management as part of the project.
- Coordinates with the Project Manager in advancing the overall project schedule
- Acts as technical advisor for cost optimization and identification of required skills.
- Guarantees updating as part of non-standard changes to existing platforms.
Handover Build:
- Participates to the handover reviews
- Guarantees that the Service Delivery Manager has all the technical elements to exploit the architecture/the service.
- Involved in standard & non-standard changes on the platform
Key Result Areas:
- Effective customer satisfaction by delivery of Cloud projects with right quality and on time.
- Accurate and seamless BOM validation for infrastructure build hardware procurement.
- Efficiently project milestones completion with quality and without major issues or escalation by project team.
- More effective Processes, Tools, documentation improvement.
- Increased quality in project deliverables due to regular meetings to discuss technology standards to be used in complex customer projects and potential solutions standards for specific technologies.
- Complete track record of all Design/Build issues and respective solutions.
- Participates in effective project team stakeholder communication.
- Increased Operation team satisfaction due to transfer of build projects knowledge to Ops team.
- More effective and detailed infrastructure handover documents for effective customer support by Operation team.
- Optimizes the costs and contributes to the P&L.
- Ensures that the design documentation is available, kept up to date and periodically review with Operations teams. participates to the risk management with Operations teams (particularly on Large Business
Requirements:
- Extensive IT consulting skills and ability to drive business: ability to independently write consulting proposals and contribute to global responses
- Possess both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to architect a solution by mapping a customer's business problem to an end-to-end technology solution
- Experience in the design and build of new converged infrastructure architecture like VMware VBlock or NetApp FlexPod
- Strong and Thorough understanding of backup, Disaster Recovery components and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced networking protocols and advanced network administration principles.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams: operations, engineering, Pre-sales.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex IT language into "common" language for customers
- Field knowledge of storage and server hardware
- Hands on experience in virtualization and knowledge of cloud automation software (Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization ,VMware vSphere suite, or equivalent a +).
- Solid experience of VMware vCloud director architecture, services, design and implementation
- Hands on experience in Server OS (Microsoft, and linux)
- Experience on Data Replication, Data protection and backup technologies (IBM, Oracle, EMC, VMWARE)
- Understanding of ITIL concepts, in particular for Help Desk, Incident, and Problem Management and Datacenter/Server Operational Components (Monitoring, Management, etc.)
- Fluent in English including writing and presentation skills
Relevant Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years related work experience in customer facing organizations within the telecom or IT industry.
Certifications:
- Relevant degree in Computer - Information Technology & Telecommunication related field is expected with post graduates studies, technical or equivalent field with 10+ years' experience.
- VMware certification DC & Cloud (VCP)
- VMware Cloud certification
- Cisco Data Center Certification (CCNA)
- Storage certification as a plus (NetApp ASAP and NCSE or EMC equivalent)
- Microsoft certification (MCSE or MCITP)
- Azure, AWS or GCP Solution Architect is a plus
