Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsibilities:
• Research, analyze, propose and implement wholesale purchasing strategies, and follow through with associated contracts and approval as needed.
• Responsible for load forecasting and ISO scheduling.
• Administer all electric wholesale settlements, process related invoices and communicate settlements with SJE’s wholesale suppliers.
• Purchase energy for all retail customers.
• Purchase energy associated with SJE’s PSA customers and SJE’s business partner.
• Manage the company’s overall energy position.
• Build new relationships, and maintain existing relationships, with wholesale suppliers, and modify contracts as needed.
• Responsible for implementing and managing potential deals with Marina Energy.
• Responsible for ensuring that SJE operates within applicable Risk Management Policies.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in engineering, accounting or a business related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in power trading activities.
• In-depth experience with electric power trading and products, including trading on ICE/Nodal (or similar) exchanges, financials swaps, bilateral transactions, options, etc.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills required.
• In-depth knowledge, understanding and experience with ISO’s.
• Comprehensive and operational knowledge of electric wholesale business, competitive energy marketplace and utility industry.
