Business Development Manager - West Africa
Bulk Fuels, Fuel storage, Fuel Terminal markets.

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager – will be responsible for promoting the Company’s value proposition to the West African Oil & Gas Markets. Initial focus will be on Ghana and other identified countries in West Africa.

The BDM will support the MEA office in achieving the company’s growth strategy through exploring any and all growth opportunities, as well as considering potential acquisition targets that will promote growth ambitions.

This role is a combination of external Business Development Activities and internal process to deliver on strategic growth plan.

The role will interface with internal stakeholders alongside the Company’s current/future external clients and therefore the BDM must be a proficient communicator at all levels, with experience of communicating effectively across a global organization. The BDM is expected to liaise / report directly with the Middle East Office, other business units and stay appraised of Corporate directed BD activities and guidelines.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

Secure new business opportunities aligned to the agreed annual BD targets and Company Growth Strategy, including but not limited to:

• Assist the Middle East office to develop Capture Plans and respective winning strategies for targeted projects and tenders
• Support BD and contract negotiation activities for New Business and Contract Renewals
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address any enquiries / queries arising
• Track New Business Development opportunities, utilizing market knowledge and market intelligence tools to identify projects and new Customers.
• Ensure successful completion of ongoing bidding processes and award of contracts to the Company on new business expansions.
• Develop strong relationships with Key Clients and Potential Clients operating within the Oil & Gas, and other industries to promote the services of the Company. Including but not limited to:

• Use existing contact to locate the decision makers at key companies and build relationships
- Develop new contacts when there are none available
- Influence key decision makers and drive tactical BD activities
- Develop and deliver BD presentations to key clients and prospects
- Development of marketing materials (In conjunction with the Middle East and Corporate teams)
- Represent Company at trade shows, professional meetings, and industry forums
- Setup and attend presentation and meetings to educate Potential Clients and existing Customers to drive strategic initiatives.

• Develop and maintain Business Development reporting tools in order to effectively communicate with and influence business Leadership regarding any and all Business Development activity, Including but not limited to:

- Responsible for providing regular reports on BD activities.
- Competitor intelligence
- Review market analyses with Dubai Office to determine Customer needs and development strategies
- Monitor and evaluate the activities and services of the completion
- New technology opportunities
- Potential acquisition targets
- International Travel – as required

Qualifications

REQUIRED
• Technical and/or Business degree (s)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Extensive experience and professional network with West Africa Region
• Understanding of the Companies Code of Conduct, regions business code of conduct and what it takes to succeed in this environment.
• Extensive experience and professional network within West African Region.
• Extensive experience within the Oil & Gas storage Infrastructure Environments having been activate within Business Development, Commercial and Projects .
• Experience managing/developing a Business or part thereof.
• Demonstrated ability to generate good contacts and effectively utilize persuasive business development and commercial methodologies

A proven track record in the following areas is required:

• Excellent knowledge of the global and regional infrastructure(pipeline, tank terminals, berthing and refinery )
• Understanding of the social and business cultures and practices of different countries around the region
• High level of communication skills; verbal and written in English, French and local languages
• Willing to work the schedules required to close business
• Ability to aggregate complex and diverse market data and analyses into information that strategy and investment decisions can be based on
• Uses intuition and experience to complement market data
• Minimum IT skills; Email, PowerPoint, Word and Excel; CRM experienced desired
