Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Immediate opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Cost controller

Client is a major prestigious international contractor

The project is a 2 year mining & infrastructure project

The role will report in to the Project Director and work very closely with the Contract Manager

Main responsibilities of the role:
- Take-off from drawings and on-site measurement of works executed (Bulk earthworks, Concrete Civils, Steel Bridges and rail.)
- Preparation and presentation to the Engineer for approval of the measured quantities and back-up documentation (measurement sheets, Auto Cad or Mensura 2D and 3D software.
- Preparation of monthly progress claims and presentation to the Engineer for approval.
- Invoicing

Specific responsibilities:
- Cost Control to ensure the project remains within the budget by monitoring and comparing the executed and contract quantities.
- Controlling of actual costs against planned costs to ensure that construction costs and production are managed as efficiently as possible
- Developing forecasts
- Estimating quantities for future materials orders
- Preparing estimates
- Preparing new rates
- Estimating quantities for variation orders
- Day Works reporting, presenting to the Engineer for approval and invoicing
- Supplying the Project team with the necessary data for Project Controls Reporting
- Forecast reporting to the Project Manager for budgeting

Requirements

Experienced in Mining, Oil & gas and EPC projects

The role will be 8 weeks on 2 weeks off.
