Employment: Full Time

Role Summary
Lead a BIM team to provide BIM support to an engineering team or office.

Responsibilities

Core Functions
• Coordinate BIM resources for team or section and reports to team or section leader
• Provide and manage a framework to enable integration & coordination of engineering services on drawings
• Develop general arrangement drawings and coordinated building details from engineers sketches and other design team member drawings and details
• Discuss and agree setting out and building details with other members of the design team
• Ensure the team produces work to BIM standards, managing non-compliance issues
• Input into the BIM standards used across the organisation, working to resolve key areas of repetition to improve efficiency
• Upload and download drawing and document files to/from the project EDMS system
• Determine the templates to be developed, and produce or oversee their production for use by team and others
• Determine format and content of BIM library
• Provide technical guidance and advice to engineers and team members about BIM functionality and use
• Identify and suggest resolutions for BIM training needs, including designing and running workshops coaching BIM skills
• Provide guidance to others inside and outside the team on BIM issues
• Project manage small / simple projects, using applicable project management tools
• Liaise with project team members under supervision
• Implement Document control, QA, archiving and CDM standards in the team, coaching others to follow them.
• Develop BIM capabilities within the Team both for engineers and BIM Technicians.

Requirements

Key Competencies / Skills
• Excellent working knowledge of BIM and Revit, able to use all standard functions on the software and coach junior staff in its use
• Experience of ensuring integration and coordination of services on engineering drawings
• Experience of determining and managing BIM libraries and templates
• Experience of managing small projects
• Clear understanding of industry standards, and experience of ensuring team compliance with a company
• BIM standard and QA systems

Qualifications
• Mandatory: Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Qualification in Revit
• Mandatory: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience:10+ years
