Business Development Specialist

Job description / Role

The role of Business Development Specialist is to explore the external environment for opportunities regarding the practice areas of Environment/ Climate Change/ Biodiversity, Water and watershed Management, Clean Energy, Agriculture and Food Security, River Engineering and Management design responses to build up the practice area business.

Duties and Responsibilities not limited to:
- Investigate the ODA flows into each of the countries in South and Central Asia, monitor the economic conditions in them for opportunities in the practice area.
- Conduct extensive competitor analysis including mapping of Louis Berger strengths and weaknesses against them.
- Prepare a detailed business plan for each quarter.
- Design, develop and maintain a database of experts in the field and network with research institutions in the practice area.
- Coordinate in bidding for new project and other business development activities.
- Attend workshops and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the industry.
- Monitor the deliverables of the projects under implementation and assist the VP in maintaining client relationship and effectiveness of project teams.
- Network with all the funding and implementing agencies in the practice area and build a pipeline of business opportunities.
- To report on a weekly basis on the business development activities to the VP and assist in home office reporting requirements.

Requirements

- PG/ Doctorate in Environment/ Forestry/ Relevant Sector.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in consulting sector
- Total experience should be up to 10 years
- Preference to knowledge in water sector
- Excellent reporting skills and writing skills
- Microsoft Office Skills, Managing Processes, Organization, Analyzing Information, Professionalism, Problem Solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Good knowledge of best practice and management theories.
