Employment: Full Time

Chief Technology Officer required by a cutting-edge leading internet group that constructs and invests in Internet companies that take proven online business models to rapidly evolving, new markets across a multitude of locations spanning the globe.

The company focuses on multiple industry sectors across online platforms that formulate a significant share of consumer spending. Their belief is that there is a market opportunity as the internet is integrating into daily life faster than anyone could have foreseen.

Their vision is to seize the largest possible portion of consumer online spending in their markets. They embrace the complexity of the markets and adapt to regional habits, developing proprietary solutions that meet their target consumers’ needs and circumstances.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Managing Director, the nominee will have the freedom to re-define and hone their role and build a competitive world-class IT team.

Job Profile:

Strategy & Planning;
- Identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services as a web-based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles.
- Identify technology trends and evolving social behaviour that may support or impede the success of the company.
- Direct development and execution of an information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the company’s data and servers.
- Identifying, developing, executing and measuring tactics such as SEO, inbound link programs and content creation focused on driving traffic growth via organic search and other appropriate channels.
- Leads the development, implementation and execution of all website and marketplace strategies.

Implementation & Deployment;
- Select and manage company staff or outsourced vendors who will implement a the strategic direction of the company.
- Establish and supervise the software development process, setting short term objectives and assessing progress as defined by the selected software development methodology.
- Review and approve proposed development releases and manage the release process.
- Review current best practices for the select web framework and establish the initial architecture for the application.
- Establish and monitor a web analytics regime that measures site traffic and application usage relative to business goals.

Operational Management;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies and software development.
- Define and communicate company values and standards for acquiring or developing systems, equipment or software within the company.
- Develop, track and control the development and deployment annual operating and capital budget for purchasing, staffing and operations.
- Establish standards of performance and monitor conformance for staff through performance review and vendors through service legal agreements.

Leadership;
- Serves as a mentor for all members of the department. Builds and leads a high-performing team of experts. Aligns the team according to skill set and experience to support business objectives.
- Drives forward strategies and tactics of E-commerce roadmap.
- Responsible for managing, overseeing and improving daily E-commerce business processes. Is the process advocate for the E-commerce department; implements process changes designed to enable the scaling of the business while collaborating with all facets of the business to ensure that recommended changes promote efficiency and excellence.

Requirements

- Must be a strong player in the Internet/Online industry.
- Have lead start-ups from a CTO perspective
- Proven track record of success
- Excellent knowledge of the Middle East and Asian landscape (and global)
- Be prepared to live and work in India, Iran and travel extensively across the region.
- Have a major zest of online, internet, web, and understand consumer tech trends.
- Possess strong contact within the industry.
