Civil and Structural Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil and Structural Engineer to join our team in the Oil and Gas industry in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of various structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing structural engineering plans and specifications for oil and gas facilities, including refineries, pipelines, and storage tanks.
- Conducting site investigations and surveys to assess the structural requirements and environmental impact.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integration of civil and structural designs with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
- Performing structural analysis and calculations using software tools to ensure the integrity and safety of the designed structures.
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and project schedules for civil and structural engineering projects.
- Overseeing the construction and installation of civil and structural components, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Conducting regular site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of construction activities and address any technical issues or deviations from the design.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, and obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Providing technical expertise and support during the procurement and selection of construction materials and equipment.
- Managing and coordinating with external contractors, consultants, and vendors to achieve project objectives within the established timelines and budget.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a reputable institution.
- Proven experience in civil and structural engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a strong understanding of industry-specific standards and practices.
- Proficiency in using structural analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as API, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Proactive problem-solving attitude with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
- Professional certification or licensure as a Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer is a plus.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability principles in civil and structural engineering practices.
