Job description / Role
Purpose: To develop software applications running on existing systems, as well as create stand-alone solutions, based on .NET/Microsoft Technologies/Java. Also maintain existing applications used within flydubai. Innovate and develop best in class software using best in class architecture, tools and methodologies
Key Activities
• Evaluate and research development tools - both off-the-shelf and open source and establish the suitability for its use in flydubai.
• Analyze requirements and come up with system design, pseudo code and code (including prototypes)
• Transform user requirements into Use cases/State Transition diagrams/Flow Charts and procure signoff from stakeholders
• Build applications (stand alone as well as plugins) that fetch data from existing system/s, manipulate them and perform new business functions
• Develop enhancements and fix existing defects on flydubai web site and other web portals
• Perform unit testing using test tools and documented test cases, ensuring that code developed is of high quality
• Perform NFR testing using test tools and code stubs, ensuring that code developed satisfies performance criteria
• Derive standards and frameworks to ensure multiple developers can work on the same code base, by bringing in configuration management tools such as VSO/VSTS.
• Help derive a Quality Management System with framework for requirements capture, design, coding, testing, release and quality assurance processes
• Implement appropriate health checks and real time alerts to catch system issues including integrity violations, data related issues and validation issues
• Maintain repository of configuration items including requirement documents, source code, test cases and Release Notes as per industry best practices
Requirements
• University Degree - Engineering (Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical)
Experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in web service technology
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development
• Experience in UML/OOAD
• Experience in design patterns
• Experience in code development using IDEs
• Experience in working with Quality Structures such as SEI CMM, ITPM, 6 Sigma
• Experience of working in airline IT is preferred
