Job description / Role
The AIS Manager oversees the Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) department to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of aeronautical information and data. This critical role ensures compliance with international and national standards, supporting safe and efficient air navigation.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement AIS policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with ICAO guidelines, national aviation regulations, and industry best practices.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the AIS department, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
- Oversee the publication and distribution of essential aeronautical information, including:
- Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP)
- Notices to Airmen (NOTAM)
- Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC)
- Pre-Flight Information Bulletins (PIB)
- Maintain procedures for international telecommunication services supporting AFS/AMHS operations.
- Ensure the accuracy and timely updates of airport and airspace information, including navigation charts and/or electronic databases.
- Guarantee data integrity and compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as air traffic control, airport operations, airlines, and regulatory authorities to ensure effective aeronautical data exchange.
- Implement WGS 84 standards and/or electronic Terrain and Obstacle Data (eTOD) and publish aeronautical charts.
- Conduct training and on-the-job (OJT) programs for AIS personnel to maintain competency standards.
- Represent the AIS department in national coordination meetings and workshops.
- Monitor compliance with ICAO SARPs, national regulations, and organizational policies concerning AIS and AIM.
- Prepare for and facilitate audits and inspections conducted by regulatory authorities.
- Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and teamwork within the department.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in AIS, AIM, or related aviation disciplines.
- Proven expertise in managing AIS operations and transitioning to digital AIM systems.
Computer skills:
- MS Office
Language skills:
- Fluent in English Language
Certifications:
- AIS Certification from ICAO or an equivalent recognized authority is highly preferred.
Salary:
USD
3,000 to 4,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
