Commissioning Technician - Mechanical

Job description / Role

• Ensure compliance with the site safety rules and with all safety aspects in the execution of work. 
• Knowledge in testing industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves. 
• Complete field level risk assessments. Interface with construction and monitor contractors' mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities (rotating equipment cold and hot alignments). 
• Conduct walk downs as required representing the mechanical commissioning discipline. 
• Completion of approved commissioning check sheets (ITRs). 
• Assist vendor representatives and site operations in commissioning and start-up activities. 
• Create and execute mechanical commissioning packages. 
• Adhere to standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) and comply with the client's company health, safety, and environment management (HSEM) system requirements. 
• Follow and maintain company standards of quality in accordance with company quality system requirements. 
• Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), installation standards, etc. 
• Experience in rotating equipment installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning physical requirements. 
• Experience in N2 and air purging and leak test requirements. Experience in hydraulic and lubricating oil flushing. 
• Experience in motor and pump alignment. Experience in chemical handling and dealing with. Ability to lift 25 kg without assistance and work in a harsh environment.
• Minimum a Bachelor's or diploma in mechanical engineering or a technical degree in maintenance or mechanical division. 
• Minimum 6+ years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
