Electrical Design Engineer - Iraq National

Job description / Role

Responsibilities

The engineer - electrical shall provide technical support for project electrical equipment which includes electrical generators, transformers, motor control centre and switchgear, cabling systems, instrumentation and other electrical components.

• Provide technical surveillance and integrity program management in the electrical area. Support operations in the repair of electrical equipment.
• Improve reliability of the electrical systems by proactively looking and addressing potential failure modes.
• Track key performance indicators on electrical systems reliability.
• Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting of electrical issues.
• Monitor electrical system performance.
• Field visits as required to conduct performance testing and review operating parameters.
• Update electrical system load diagrams and perform load studies.
• Maintain electrical load inventory load bases.
• Support ALT by assuming a leadership role within the discipline and generating improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and give presentations to support findings and recommendations.
• Conduct risk assessment and root cause failure analysis as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in electrical engineering.
• Incumbents must have design engineering experience.
• 5-8 years in oil and gas as an electrical engineer.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Good Arabic/English speaking and writing skills.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Good computer skills.
• Quality conscience with the proper attention to detail.
• Familiarity or experience with the following systems desired - work management system, integrity management system.
• Applicants must have a Basra residency card.
