About the Company:
China Petroleum & Pipeline Engineering Co. (CPP Engineering) is a leading EPC contractor specializing in oil & gas pipeline systems, infrastructure development, and integrated energy solutions worldwide.
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer willing to relocate to Iraq to support the Rumaila Sour Gas Project.
Role Overview:
This is a key technical position responsible for full-cycle electrical commissioning, operation, and maintenance (O&M) support for the acid gas treatment system and oil & gas gathering facilities.
The role ensures safe, stable, and compliant operation of all electrical systems in accordance with international oilfield standards and Iraqi regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee operation and maintenance of power supply, distribution, lighting, security, and low-current systems.
2. Monitor transformers, high/low-voltage switchgear, and electrical panels.
3. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
4. Respond to electrical faults and implement emergency repair plans.
5. Participate in accident investigations and prepare technical reports.
6. Develop preventive maintenance programs and manage spare parts.
7. Ensure compliance with HSE standards and work permit systems.
8. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain operational continuity.
9. Support technical upgrades, system optimization, and energy-saving initiatives.
10. Maintain accurate O&M documentation and equipment records.
Requirements-
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Industrial Automation, or related discipline.
Experience:
1. Minimum 5 years of electrical O&M experience in oil & gas or industrial plants.
2. Strong hands-on experience with transformers and high/low voltage systems.
3. Experience in overseas or Iraqi oilfield projects preferred.
4. Ability to handle emergency electrical troubleshooting independently.
5. Certifications (At least one preferred):
6. Registered Electrical Engineer
7. High/Low Voltage Electrician Certificate
8. Explosion-proof Electrical Operation Certificate
9. PLC Certification (advantage)
Technical Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of power distribution systems.
2. Experience with PLC systems and industrial electrical safety standards.
3. Familiar with international oilfield electrical standards.
4. Ability to manage maintenance planning, cost control, and documentation.
Language:
Fluent English required.
Working Conditions:
