Geology Supervisor

Job description / Role

Purpose: Ensure safe, efficient execution of drilling operations, adhering to approved programs, company policies, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Minimize non-productive time related to mud logging services.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure safety compliance.
• Advise on corrective actions without direct intervention unless safety risks arise.
• Oversee mud logging equipment, data quality, and operations compliance with drilling programs.
• Analyze geological data to optimize drilling strategies.
• Prepare and submit daily, end-of-well, and analysis reports.
• Promote and enforce HSE standards, participating in audits and safety drills.
• Coordinate with the Geology Superintendent and drilling teams to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications:
• Education: Degree in Oil & Gas Geology.
• Experience: 5+ years in the oil and gas industry, including 2+ years as a Well Site Geologist (South Iraq preferred).
• Skills: Proficient in mud logging, core sampling, and OpenWells software.

Certifications:
• H2S and relevant wellsite training.

Languages:
• Strong English communication skills (oral and written).
Authority & Responsibility:
• Request materials, propose operational improvements, and ensure timely, accurate execution of duties.
