Group Internal Auditor (Erbil, Iraq)

Charterhouse is working with a leading diversified group within a fast-paced and frontier market. With untapped potential, our client is looking to hire a Group Internal Auditor to introduce strong governance and commercial understanding ensuring solid processes and efficiencies.

Supporting the VP of Finance and the CFO, you will oversee controllership and governance within the organisation; to develop strong internal controls linked to both, local and international regulations. The coverage of this role will be relatively broad including areas of financial and operational audits. You will also ensure all areas of financial reporting, administration and documentation are managed appropriately in a standardised manner.

Additional responsibilities will include performing financial, operational and compliance based audits as well as planning across the group entities and projects You will also prepare risk and control frameworks. Moreover, you will review, restructure and roll-out internal controls and governance policies linked to operational and financial efficiencies.

Your duties will also include analysing and reporting weaknesses and threats to both, business and functional reporting lines as well as developing the groups guidelines and manuals for legacy and succession planning.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CPA) or a certified Auditor (CIA or CISA) with a strong grounding in an audit practice. You should have post qualified exposure to working within an international construction related organisation. You should possess an expertise of best practice that can be delivered and rolled out to undertake a review of policies and procedures.
