Job description / Role
• Review and comment on the contractors’ HSE plans and ensure compliance of the plans with local codes and regulations
• Review and comment on the risk assessment and analysis Chapter in the Contractor’s method statement submittals
• Implement HSE policies and procedures on site, in coordination with the contractor and his HSE representative
• Conduct HSE audits on site in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
• Ensure that all site safety instructions are carried out before the start of new work and on the arrival of new staff
• Monitor HSE activities and practices on site and record all safety defects relating to safety working practices in the area where the work is being carried out.
• Prepare and submit weekly periodic HSE performance reports, highlighting HSE issues on site and recommending HSE initiatives and mitigation measures to address non-compliance patterns
• Carry out accident and incident investigations on site
• To check the HSSE report submitted by the contractor for our approval.
• Provide input to the Planning Engineer for the development of project progress reports, as needed
• Cooperate with HSE audits conducted by the Quality & HSE Section on the project site, as per corporate policies and procedures
• Set up and maintain a comprehensive filing system and maintain records of all HSE meetings, safety inspections, the HSE section of the monthly report, and other safety-related matters
• Implement corporate policies and procedures
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Certification in HSSE is preferred
• In possession of internationally recognized HSE certifications NEBOSH IGC or above, along with project experience.
• ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience with an engineering firm in an HSSE function
• Experience within an HSSE function on construction/construction supervision projects
• Experience with HSSE audit activities
• Certification in HSSE is preferred
• Understanding of local HSSE regulations
• Good attention to detail
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic
