Wood is recruiting for a Maintenance Small Project Electrical Supervisor to join its Iraq Business Unit on a 28 days on, 28 days off rotation to provide knowledge and expertise to progress engineering through design, project set-up, construction, and commissioning. This role is onsite in Basra, Iraq with travel requirements.

Key Objectives
- Provide knowledge and expertise to progress engineering through design, project set-up, construction, and commissioning.
- Provide electrical engineering solutions for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on LV/HV plant equipment in the field ensuring maintenance activities performed are integrated in accordance with the production unit asset leadership plans.
- Advise section heads of any issues and risks on plant in the field with regards to electrical equipment condition and future maintenance issues with respect to operational and long-term spares.
- Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems.
- Participate in resolving project engineering and construction issues, regular interface with contractors and management.
- Attend walkdowns, PSSR, and handover visits for all system HV, MV, LV.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, booster pumps, compressors, high voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment.
- Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate, and maintain electrical apparatus. Work from complex engineering and manufacturers drawings or manuals to complete projects and assigned work.
- Design and implement small projects under $1 million for the maintenance department.
- Focal point for the maintenance department in all future projects.
- Design and provide support for the installation and maintenance of control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Focal point for RCFA reporting on all electrical issues.
- Supervise all shutdown activities pertaining to the electrical discipline.
- Supervise installation and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives. Install and maintain programmable logic control systems (PLC). Interpret and/or modify PLC control logic as necessary.
- Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
- Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Support the repair or replacement of faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and panels.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning (installation and calibration) of the plant during installation and start-up of the plant.
- Communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems with the section head of electrical.
- Supervise and participate in the on-the-job training of utility maintenance personnel as needed.
- Use computerized maintenance systems to retrieve and enter information.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment. Maintain records, update drawings, and develop safety procedures.
- Assist in maintenance projects providing contractor supervision.
- Have knowledge and experience in solar farms and green energy systems.
- Have experience in gas recovery and gas generation systems.
- Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.
- Perform other duties as required.

Expected:
- More than 20 years' experience in the upstream or midstream of the oil and gas project/operations engineering business.
- HNC/Degree in Electrical Instrumentation.
- Considerable knowledge of electrical systems, including high and low-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, grounding procedures, solar energy, gas recovery and generation, personal protective equipment requirements, safety procedures, and electrical test equipment.
- Good knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to use engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals to troubleshoot, install, and repair equipment.
- Ability to maintain records and report on work accomplished.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work unscheduled hours during emergency and/or unusual situations (24 hours/7 days a week).
- Considerable knowledge of the approved methods, practices, code requirements, and safety standards, including equipment, tools, and materials of the trade.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Load calculations for cable, relays, transformers, generators, etc.
- Worked on large-scale projects.
Skills:
- Quality audits and inspections experience.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions; prepare clear and concise records, reports, and other written materials.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with those encountered in the course of work.
- Read and understand P&ID, single line drawings, termination drawings, EX documentation, certification documents, manuals, drawings, specifications, and process diagrams pertaining to the oil and gas industry.
- Organize, plan, and complete projects.
- Communicate effectively and professionally orally and in writing.
- Work with minimal supervision; schedule own time according to established priorities; work under less detailed instructions to complete assignments.
- Hands-on experience in oil and gas facilities.
- Excellent communication skills in verbal and written briefs and skilled in report writing and compilation.
- Experience and ability to fault find complex instrument and electrical systems.
- Experienced in working in a 24/7 quick reaction team for any E&I plant trip issues.
- Proven supervisory experience with excellent behaviors and the ability to plan and measure.
