Job description / Role
Scope of Responsibilities
The Mechanical Construction Supervisor oversees and coordinates all mechanical construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications while managing resources, schedules, and documentation.
Primary Duties
- Support the Team Manager / Lead that you are seconded to.
- Maintain effective communication with Team Managers

- Awareness of the big picture, and importance of delivery.
- Oversee mechanical construction activities (piping, valves, pumps, compressors, exchangers, vessels, tanks, rotating equipment), including installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with other supervisors and project teams to ensure smooth execution of mechanical work.
- Develop and manage the construction schedule, ensuring that activities are completed on time.
- Oversee the allocation and utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment for mechanical tasks.
- Ensure Tool Box Talks are structured, recorded & add value.
- Working knowledge of local Labour Legislation and Laws is required.
- Resolve queries or conflict on best practice.
- Detailed daily reporting and compile / receive handovers pre / post field breaks.
- Ensure that all Mechanical work complies with local regulations, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Investigation Team member on HSE incidents.
- Identify and address any quality issues or non-conformance promptly.
- Lead and manage Mechanical Teams and Subcontractors. Provide guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Oversee the integration of Mechanical systems into the overall project, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
- Ensure that required materials and equipment are procured and delivered on time. Verify that materials meet project specifications
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years' experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas project/operations for Mechanical discipline
- Supervisor experience is mandatory
- Degree or Diploma (HND) in relevant technical discipline.
- Work to the highest personal & professional standards to achieve or exceed set objectives.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace clients' charter values.
- Foster good relationships and team working ethic with sub-contract teams to promote safe working practices and efficiency.
- Experience of working in an integrated team from diverse locations required.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
