Preclinical/Clinical Instructor in Endodontics

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The College of Dentistry at the American University of Iraq Baghdad (AUIB) is pleased to invite qualified applicants for a full-time faculty position of Preclinical/clinical instructor in endodontics.

The candidate will be responsible for assuring pre-clinical/clinical instruction, including but not limited to aspects of endodontics through the delivery of didactic, simulation clinic coursework and assessment of student learning.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver didactic content for endodontics.
• Develop and/ or revise learning objectives and associated assessments for pre-clinical endodontic coursework.
• Deliver simulation clinic content for endodontic coursework, including demonstrations of correct procedural techniques to the student audience.
• Produce adjunctive educational materials such as demonstration videos or sample laboratory projects for the students to reference.
• Maintain and revise didactic content (lecture materials) as directed.
• Maintain and revise laboratory manual and written examination content in conjunction with the Head of department and the Dean of the College.
• Provide grade assessments, assess student progress, implement remediation requirements, and suggest a preclinical educational strategy.

Experience, Skills, and Educational Requirements:

Candidates for this position must have:

• BDS, DDS, DMD, or highest professional dental qualification and graduate from an accredited dental school.
• Knowledge of pre-doctoral curriculum assessment and development.
• Completion of an Advanced Education Program in Endodontics (Certificate or Master's Degree).
• Operational understanding of American university educational systems.
• Preferred experience working and living in the Middle East.

About the Company

AUIB is an American-style, nonprofit university located next to the Baghdad International Airport in Baghdad. This large-scale, multi-million dollar project is funded by Iraqi and U.S. donors, both public and private. The university opens for students on Jan. 17, 2021, with the College of Arts & Sciences, College of International Studies, and the College of Business. Eventually, there will be 10 colleges at the university, including a College of Medicine.
