Wood is currently recruiting for a rotating equipment engineer to join its Singapore business unit. This is a full-time onsite position based on 4x4 rotation in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Activities
- Support and oversee WQ1 35 MW power plant multidiscipline team
- Daily attendance at the 35 MW power plant power station (primary work site)
- On request, rotating equipment support at other WQ1 stations (secondary worksites)
- Maintain communications maintenance and operations management
- Assist and guide planning and execution of power plant interventions and facility upgrades
- Plan, update and oversee all activities at primary and (upon request) secondary areas of responsibility according to the laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures. Special emphasis must be placed on health, safety, and the environment
- Develop and maintain open communications on 35 MW issues (for example, safe work practices, training, materials, and others) with peers and technicians
- Report incidents both internally and externally (as per the reporting matrix) and escalate awareness as per the incident reporting guidelines
- Adhere to approved 35 MW work plans, schedule and daily activities to maximize work teams effectiveness
- Provide technical evaluations of material, equipment and maintenance procedures
- Provide input into the training department on curriculum and selection of personnel for training

Expected
- 15 years plus experience in maintenance (multidiscipline) operations - required
- Degree preferred (or equivalents). Minimum HNC or equivalent
- Full member of recognized professional institute preferred
- Previous Iraq experience highly preferable
Skills
- Excellent communications (oral and written) in English, Arabic an advantage
- Highest standard of safety, health, environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others
- Ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment
Summary skills
- Full power plant knowledge and experience including gas and liquid fuel supply and distribution, turbine maintenance (mechanical, rotating, electrical, instrument and controls)
- Previously worked in a turbine and balance of plant engineering (maintenance) role (preferred, or able to demonstrate experience on similar systems)
35 MW key components
- Titan T130 solar turbine packages
- Power distribution (11 kV, 6.6 kV, 0.4 kV)
- Balance of plant
Specific skills include
- Solar turbine Titan T130 packages
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, engine exchange and reinstatement activities in accordance with company policy, OEM recommendation and good practices
- Borescope inspection - execution and analysis
Capability and experience of using
- Turbotronic drawing, ladder logic diagrams
- Programming and advanced troubleshooting on Allen Bradley PLCs (RS Logix 5000 and PLC 5) and TT4000 HMI
Power distribution
- 11 kV switching and synchronization
- Isolation practices (racking in / racking out)
- Black start procedures
- Power quality knowledge
- Appreciation of protection and coordination
