Job description / Role

Employment: Contract

- Reports to Subsurface Manager
- Direct Reports: 36
- Oversees geological/geophysical activities maintain and improve field subsurface understanding. Identify the knowledge gap and drive the study to help reducing subsurface uncertainties.
- Plans, initiates and coordinates all geological/geophysical activities within Block 9 to ensure quality and timely delivery of the geological & geophysical contents of field development work.
- Liaises with reservoir, petroleum engineering teams to ensure the overall quality of the team’s product.
- Ensures timely integration of geological plans, coordinates and participates in the day-to-day activities of other development personnel members of assigned field development team.
- Contributes to the preparation of the team’s budget by integrating G&G section requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
- MSc in Geology

Minimum Experience:
- Plus 12 years’ experience in petroleum geology, including active participation in integrated field development studies and planning activities.
- Experience of working in a similar role, working as a senior level technical geoscientist, ideally with experience of working on carbonate fields.
- Understand the key carbonate subsurface uncertainties and its impact to the reservoir behavior.
- Strong presentation/communication skills, ability to communicate subsurface technical / geological concepts in easy and understandable terms to non-subsurface staff.
- Good overview of exploration, development and production phases.
- Able for the coordination and integration of G&G findings with the work of other field development teams activities, guided by field development objectives and specialized professional standards.
