Senior Accountant

Job description / Role

This opportunity is with a Large Financial Consulting Company.
We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will manage various transactions, perform and coordinate accounting duties within the organization. You will interact with different auditors, advisors, actuaries, and other internal leaders in the organization.

Responsibilities
• Plan and coordinate accounting functions and programs.
• Prepare financial analyses, reports, revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
• Prepare and monitor budgets.
• Assist in annual audit preparations.
• Recommendation based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
• Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives.
• Train and mentor junior staff.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Make sure that confidential information is secure.
• Keep alongside financial laws, rules and regulations and internal policies.
• Oversee all activities of the junior accountants.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.

Requirements

• An accounting/finance degree or similar.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
• Preferred experience of accounting computer applications.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the management of financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation, and providing financial advice.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Solid communication skills.
• Good organizational and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of tax laws.
• Ability to train and manage staff.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.
