Wood is currently recruiting for a supply chain engineer to join its Iraq business unit focusing on effective execution of all aspects of supply chain management for a major onshore brownfield project in Basra, Iraq.

This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.

Job purpose

Undertake effective execution of all aspects of supply chain management including procurement, expediting, subcontracts, materials management and logistics

Assuring on time delivery and management of the correct quality goods and services at the best overall value

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Responsible for the end to end sourcing process of procurement and subcontracts activities in Iraq region, including but not limited to:

Carry out price negotiations with suppliers to achieve demonstrable price reductions and capturing all internal and external in year savings targets as per business plan

Negotiation of framework agreements required by project or client

Assist with supplier performance reviews and ongoing management ensuring corrective actions are taken where required

Responsible for delivery of any expediting activity, including but not limited to:

Creation of expediting reports and required desk expediting

Updating of procurement system with current status and setting of follow up dates

Issue of expediting progress reports

Responsible for delivery of any materials and logistics activity, including but not limited to:

Production of shipping documents for all materials movements

Timely updating of procurement system with goods receipts

Warehouse materials handling e.g. OS&D checks, bagging and tagging, preparation for shipping and marshaling of shipments

Identification of materials shortages and surplus

Requisitioning and control of small plant and equipment, tooling and consumables

Ensures all supply chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan, schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with Wood supply chain code of conduct

Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and Wood processes and procedures are complied with and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable

Update the project/procurement status report (PSR) in line with project/client required on site dates and current/estimate lead and delivery times, notifying any delays to supply chain management

Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety commitment

Understands and lives Wood's vision, values and behaviours

Understands and works to the Wood financial management framework

All other tasks as reasonably requested by line management

Working relationships

Internal: Procurement specialist peers, General Manager, Head of Procurement, Accounts Payable, Finance, Project Engineers

External: Suppliers

Level of influence and decision-making authority

Ensure clear understanding of SCM processes and procedures and compliance against these (including supply chain code of conduct, policy, segregation of duties)

Agile to understand Wood approvals flow, including Wood delegation of authorities and financial approvals

Expected:

Bachelor or master degree in supply chain, technical education or related fields

Knowledge, skills and experience

Minimum of 5 years supply chain experience demonstrating results

Broad base knowledge of suppliers, commercial evaluations, negotiations and terms and conditions, subcontract agreements and framework agreements

Industry forms of subcontract

ERP systems / Oracle

Client contract requirements

Supply chain principles and techniques of purchase and contract

Ability to use Office suite - intermediate level
