Job description / Role
Wood is currently looking for a System Completion Supervisor to join our team in Basra, Iraq on a 5 weeks on /3 weeks off rotational work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview
- Leads team of Local Nationals and Expatriates proficient in various aspects of Systems Completion in line with the requirements of Systems Completions Procedures for a safe and smooth / transparent Project Activity / Project Turn Over.
- Oversees (with the help of the SC Team) in the planning and safe execution of the Systems Completion program for all Projects where required or assists / monitors EPC Contractors in the planning and safe execution their Systems Completion programs where applicable in accordance with the requirements.
- Oversees and or manages the effective execution of Turn Over and acceptance of Systems Completion tasks and identification / mitigation of 'look ahead' activities critical to ensuring an orderly Turn Over and integration of production and or infrastructure facilities.
- Provides guidance, training, and oversight regarding Systems Completion / commissioning activities and deliverables to the Project Commissioning personnel and Contractor's Systems Completion personnel.
- Assists Operations Readiness & other departments when required during start-up / post start-up.
- Assists Operations Readiness in the Stewardship Transfer Plan (STP) process and activities to facilitate Facility Hand Over from Operations Readiness
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of Systems Completions Organization and sourcing of experienced and qualified personnel.
- Provide support and guidance to the EPC Contractors in the development of and execution of project specific Systems Completions Plans and Programs.
- Oversight of a computerized Systems Completion Data Base (SCDB) or Completion Management System (CMS) for tracking, certification, and quality control purposes.
- Develop and or monitor a Systems Completions Data Base that would include engineering deliverables (e.g. tags, etc.), static and dynamic check sheets, and verification criteria, etc.
- Coordinate the involvement of Operations representatives in the mechanical completion phase and in the commissioning planning and execution phase.
- Working with the Operations Readiness team, ensure Operations personnel are familiar with plant equipment and systems accordance with the requirements of their specific Operability Management Plans / Work Management Systems/ Training Programs.
- During the Detailed Engineering Design phase of a Project,
- Provide guidance to the EPC Contractors / Project Construction Contractors to ensure the proper planning of Commissioning activities are in alignment with the execution planning required by the Project and Operations Readiness.
- Provide guidance, in collaboration with EPC Contractors, to ensure all commissioning deliverables are prepared, documented & issued including a Systems Completion Plan, System Boundary Drawings, System Sub-System Descriptions, Minimum Equipment Testing Matrix, Commissioning Procedures, Preservation / De-preservation Plans, Completion Dossiers, final Systems List and Priorities, Commissioning and Start-Up Spares, Work packs, check-sheets, First Fills, Commissioning Consumables, Temporary equipment for commissioning (e.g. power), Turnover and Completion Packages (TCP's), etc.
- In collaboration with the Contractor / Project Team, create a Vendor Support Register for commissioning activities including timely mobilization and demobilization dates.
- Project Team / Contractor / EPC Contractor are responsible to ensure all Vendor Representatives coming onto Site obtain the necessary timely entry visas as required.
- During this activity consult with the Operations Readiness Start-Up Lead to integrate / streamline commissioning and start-up vendor support requirements on site.
- During Package Fabrication and during the Site Construction and Commissioning / Start-Up phases, working with the EPC contractors, and or Project Contractors (if there is no EPC Contractor):
- For prefabricated Packages and Equipment, ensure FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) plans and procedures are executed in line with the project documentation and ensure that the Project Team's Contractors / Fabricators document the execution of FAT results and upload all carry over work / punch list items into the Project Systems Completion Data Base / CMS database
- On Site, to provide on-site safety leadership of 'No One Gets Hurt' to ensure the safe execution of commissioning activities and participate in Project Safety Initiatives / Programs.
- On Site, to provide the necessary leadership and guidance required for all Commissioning activities during Construction Completion, Static Commissioning, Dynamic Commissioning and Turn Over of Systems.
- On Site, to ensure the commissioning procedures, work packs, completion certificate programs, and TCPs are implemented in accordance with Systems Completion requirements.
- On Site, with the Project Teams, are to lead the Systems Completion acceptance processes including walk-downs and documenting punch lists
- On Site, to provide commissioning input for Safety and Operability reviews
- Develop contingency planning with the Project Team when the Systems Completion schedule is compromised or altered
- Provide support Operations Readiness Start-Up Team as requested in the planning and execution of the facility start-up and post facility start-up performance tests and or operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering
- Direct 'hands on' experience in plant / system start-up
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in Oil & Gas processing
- Working understanding of Project completions and commissioning practices
- Working knowledge of design practices, processes, and expectations with respect to equipment systems completion and commissioning
- Demonstrated excellent people skills with the ability to interact effectively with Project / Start-Up & Operations personnel.
- Ability to work in harsh/ challenging environments and in stressful situations.
- Good facilitator with the ability to build consensus in areas of contention while enhancing working relationships
- Exposure to drilling and down hole operations an added asset
