Hotel Overview:
The Fairmont Amman features 317 luxurious guestrooms and suites including Fairmont Gold, the brand’s hotel within a hotel featuring amenities such as private reception and guest lounge. The hotel’s food and beverage offerings will provide unique concepts designed to add flair and sophistication to an already exciting city.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Controller, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Direct functional control over most accounting functions. This includes but is not limited to Income Audit, Accounts Payable, General Cashier, & Payroll.
• Strong Technical Knowledge and support for all accounting positions.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate accounts prepared on a timely basis.
• Coordinates and ensures that all daily, semi-monthly, and monthly management reports are accurate and issued on a timely basis
• Reviews coding and documentation of A/P invoices
• Organizes and participates in completion of monthly journal and closing entries
• Assists with gratuity reconciliation
• Reconciles and monitors all balance sheet accounts.
• Prepares all bank reconciliations.
• Cover other accounting positions during staff vacations.
• Assists departments in the interpretation and analysis of accounting matters
• Assists in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems
• All other tasks as assigned by Assistant Controller or Controller
• To be Health & Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Proficient in the English language (verbal & written)
• Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications required
• Must possess a professional presentation
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Minimum 3 years experience in various accounting roles.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to get the job done right the first time
• Superior level skills in computer technology and hotel applications including knowledge of Property Management System, AccPac, Micros POS, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Professional designation or an acceptable university degree with appropriate specialization in Accounting an asset.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
• Prolonged work in a seated position at a workdesk
• Frequent work in front of a computer screen
• Frequent typing and data entry using computers and other technology
• Occasional standing and walking throughout shift
