About the role
Careem Express is a vertical within the Careem ecosystem - a startup within a startup. We are responsible for fulfillment and last mile delivery for hundreds of merchants in a variety of industries including e-commerce, food, grocery, and other areas. We are a small and passionate team that is building the next big vertical for Careem.
Join our mission to redefine the B2B delivery landscape in Amman. As a Commercial Lead, you'll be at the forefront of crafting and executing innovative tailored logistics services that resonate with our clients. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing our brand presence, driving customer engagement, and contributing to our growth trajectory.
What you'll do
- Field sales - To identify, target, sales pitch, and commercial closure of B2B partners (high potential geographic clusters/localities within the city with high food/non-food business density) and onboard them to the Careem Express Delivery Network.
- Negotiate & close - Commercials, exclusivity, cross-functional deals, and offers.
- Business growth and account strategy - Drive proactive joint business planning to create value and continuous growth with top-tier brands and businesses to increase revenue, profitability, and market share, while regularly conducting business reviews to ensure performance alignment and strategic growth.
- Partner relationships - Build and maintain long-term relationships with business partners, acting as the primary point of contact. Provide exceptional support, resolve operational, technical, and financial issues, and optimize partner collaboration to maximize performance.
- Commercial optimization - Renegotiate rates, manage contracts, drive sales and volume scale-ups to increase partner and portfolio value.
- Data-driven decisions - Analyze account performance, make data-backed decisions, maintain accurate sales records and monthly closing metrics, follow-up activities, and performance reports.
- Operational excellence - Quickly resolve technical and operational issues to ensure partners remain live and optimized, especially during peak seasons and local holidays.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a commercial field (strategic account management, customer success & retention, B2B partnerships), with a strong grasp of digital platforms and delivery/driver marketplace operations, process optimization, and SOPs.
- High performer - track record of generating revenue for businesses, target oriented, and problem solver.
- Familiarity with SQL tools and their application in a data-driven approach to decision-making, data analysis, and reporting.
- MS Office/G Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic cross-functional environment.
- Negotiation and closing skills, proposals, RFP, and contract management.
