Description
Optimiza is seeking a highly skilled database administrator to join our talented team. As a DBA, you will play a critical role in managing our database systems, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions to meet the evolving needs of our organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS) across various platforms.
- Monitor and enhance database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Implement and manage robust database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans to protect organizational data.
- Develop and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity and security.
- Collaborate with application development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries for application performance.
- Conduct database migrations and upgrades while ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators and team members.
- Stay informed about emerging database technologies and best practices to enhance system performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience as a database administrator with a strong emphasis on database operations.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and various DBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery strategies, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud database technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) is highly preferred.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting) for automation and administrative tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
