Job overview

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So, whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

About the role

As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated and close-knit team at Baston House School, part of the Options Autism family.

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting our teachers to deliver engaging and creative lessons tailored to the needs of our pupils—helping to maximise their achievement, independence, and confidence. You will support teaching and learning in both individual and small group settings, lead lessons when required, and build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and interaction. You will also contribute to maintaining a strong safeguarding culture and bring a proactive, flexible approach to classroom support and behaviour management.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has achieved Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status
  • Has experience working within an SEN/ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) setting
  • Is calm, confident, and resilient in the face of challenges
  • Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider education team
  • Is confident leading lessons or small groups when required
  • Is committed to empowering every pupil to reach their full potential

Qualifications required:

  • English and Maths GCSE (essential)
  • HLTA qualification (desirable)

At Baston House School, we are committed to creating a nurturing, respectful environment where our pupils feel heard, supported, and inspired to thrive.
