Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This leading international design consultancy have an excellent reputation from years of design and delivery of large scale international projects.
Currently they require a Lead Interior Designer to help drive the Interior Design Division.

Responsibilities of the role include:

To set & agree section business plan with direct line manager
To be responsible with head section in building the section and the overall success of the section.
To assist in the development of the Discipline in terms of building expertise and continuous improvement.
To seek to understand the market.
To be an expert within the chosen field.
To develop others.
To act as a role model and leader for the team.
To assist in managing performance and celebrate success.
To provide appropriate reporting to the line manager.
Executive & Technical Responsibilities
To implement persistently the position work instructions as contained in companies quality management system.
To develop work process to adapt to latest technological design techniques in the market.
To continue contact with the industry to be updated on new products and equipments that would improve the design work in his section.
To review the design stages output and final deliverables.
To assume the responsibility of the design on behalf of company by signing the final drawings and documents as needed.
To participate in agreeing a challenging objectives for team members that align to personal opportunities for career development, reinforce culture & appropriate behaviors and ensure project objectives align to individuals capabilities& expectations
To participate in guiding team members in identifying their career paths aligned with the organization & staff aspirations by identifying the required development to realize these.
To develop systems/procedures related to the practice of interior design activities and control all related documents including submittals & transmittals
To be responsible for delivery of interior design work.
To participate in optimizing unit asset value and delivery.
To attend technical meetings regarding projects and facilitating solutions to technical problems in a timely and professional manner.
To participate in selecting, qualifying and assigning sub consultants.
To participate in managing and evaluating sub consultants work to ensure that all projects are being executed as per the prepared specifications, in addition to preparing reports concerning the status of engineering activities in conjunction with project schedules.
To participate in conducting performance management activities to subordinates and managing the process of ensuring objectives are being met as advised, including the PDPs, Project Performance Appraisal & Assignment Sheet.
To participate in developing of budgets, effort and pricing estimation, and programs planning for special or assigned projects, including the identification of project supervision technical support resources.
To conduct continuous analysis of resources & skills requirements to improve project delivery and, update recruiting plans with HR manager.

Requirements

This person will ideally be based in Jordan, Amman and have min 15 years post graduation experience of working within Interior Design.
Qualification will be either in Interior Design or Architecture.
Largescale mixed use project experience is ideal with management experience.
Excellent communication skills across Arabic and English is necessary for internal team management and external party - Client, sub consultants and Contractors - liaison.
