Employment: Full Time

Leading Middle East Architecture and Planning business have over 35 years in the region delivering Commercial, Hotels, Institutional, Residential and Masterplanned communities/infrastructure projects.
With multiples offices around the region, they seek a Managing Director for the Amman, Jordan Headquarters.
This individual will be key in driving this established business into a new generation of designing and delivering quality buildings around the Middle East, taking advantage of the solid foundation and reputation this business has built.

The Managing Director shall assure that the Firm’s vision, mission and core values are adhered to by the management and employees, and shall promote the Firm’s brand.
Overseeing overall operations and ensuring compliance with set standards and quality. Following up and monitoring progress and strategic alignment, contributing and directing developing and articulating strategies and managing their implementation and leading and managing the profitability and growth of the firm and presenting the results in Board of Directors meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assures updated filing of all legal and regulatory documents of the firm/ subsidiaries and branches, and compliance with corporate policies and all local rules and regulations.
- Adopts the board Firm’s vision, mission, and values.
- Adopts the Board Firm’s strategic directions of the firm for short- and long-term goals.
- Implement the strategic plan to meet the set targets for revenue, profitability, and growth.
- Ensures the business performance is run within relevant technical, legal and financial compliance with contact terms and conditions.
- Plans, manages and directs the firm’s activities to performance in compliance with Clients, standards and quality.
- Plan and direct the overall budgeting process as per the Board policies.
- Monitors the expenditures and financial performance of the business against the set KPIs in budgets.
- Represents firm towards Clients and develops negotiating strategies, examining risks and potentials; to ensure proper services are rendered to clients.
- Ensures persistent implementation of all Firm corporate policies by Firm management and subsidiaries/ branches to assure total quality management system (TQMS).
- Develops circulars and memos regarding general administrative and technical aspects of the firm
- Conducts periodic meetings with concerned managers to enhance strategic culture in setting priorities and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Informs the Board regularly about market trends, new technical issues, and activities in the consultancy business that affects Firm strategies and policy issues.
- Identifies challenges and opportunities for Firm that needs the Board discussion and deliberation.
- Proposes major investments decisions and strategic relationships for Board deliberation.

Decision Making Authority
- Recommend major investment to the Board for decision.
- Recommend Growth or divestment to the Board for decision.
- Recommend Executive Management Appointments to the Board.
- Recommend Changes to management structure as required to the Board for approval.
- Manage the day-to-day business within the approved strategic plan and the set business targets.
- Control operational cash flow status to maintain firm business commitment.

Key Relationships
- Board – Report status to the Board during monthly meetings with recommendations for improvement decisions.
- Clients - Ensure performance to contract requirements, client feedback sessions, and personal response to major issues.
- Strategy and Development Director – Regular review to adhere to the firm’s strategy and development.
- Delivery Director - Regular reviews and approvals on policies, systems and procedures.
- Finance Director – Regular reviews of financial performance with accountabilities for targets achievements.
- General Managers of subsidiaries and branch managers.

Requirements

- B.Sc. in Arch/Engineering, Master degree in management related functions or other degrees or certificates are preferable.
- Minimum twenty years of track record among which at least five years in management executive position.
- Proficiency level in computer software related to the management functions.
- Knowledge in Financial functions and management.
- Competence in the technical aspects of consultancy services.
- Knowledge in HR functions & management.
