Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A great opportunity for a Patent Administrator to join a dynamic Patent team has arisen in our Jordan office. Among others, the successful Patent Administrator will have the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Preparing patent/design applications and related documents and forms in both Arabic and English ;
• Attending to the Patent Office and other governmental entities for processing patent/designs documents, including filing patent applications, and responses to office actions;
• Assisting with the filing of patent applications in other countries in the region where required;
• Managing the legalization process of formality documents with respect to patents/designs;
• Updating an internal docketing system with duties including action deadlines and reminders with respect to patents/designs;
• Preparing correspondences, memos and presentations for communication to clients, agents, patent offices and team members;
• Coordinating English-Arabic and Arabic-English translations of patent applications;
• Coordinating re work with other team members across the region where necessary;
• Advising clients and other team members about the status of patent/design applications;
• Advising clients and other team members regarding relevant dates, patent terms, priority applications, ownership and others by researching appropriate resources, such as attorney reports, internal databases, external specialized patent resources and other related resources;
• Conducting patent searches at the Patent Office using patent/design databases and official publications;
• Processing notifications from patent offices, and coordinating and interfacing with the Patent Offices;
• Updating records and team members about any official notifications issued by the Patent Offices with respect to procedures, regulations, costs, etc.

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering or Sciences
• 3-7 years patent experience preferred, junior applicants may also apply
• Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills both in Arabic and English
• Trustworthy, reliable, accurate, precise and detail oriented;
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Able to work with a minimum supervision;
• Skilled in using computer tools such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Paint, Photoshop, etc.
