Software Development Engineer I, MENA Tech
Job summary
The Amazon Middle East and North Africa team is looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) who is passionate about building great products for our customers. The SDE-I will be based in Amman, Jordan. In this role you will:
- Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions
- Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables
- Write high quality distributed system software
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market
Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, and databases
- Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years industry experience in software development
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
