Charterhouse is working with a leading manufacturer and distributor of construction materials in East Africa. Due to continuous business growth, our client is now looking to appoint a Group Head of Sales and Marketing to be based from their head office in Kenya.

This role will take overall accountability for developing and executing strategic marketing and sales campaigns across both domestic and export markets. The successful candidate will proactively conduct extensive competitor research, identify key market trends and recommend product positioning and pricing strategies to retain long-term market share. This role requires previous experience in managing a large diverse team, handling manufacturing operations, market channel development and overseeing sales distribution including the entry in to new territories. In regards to marketing you will oversee and manage all advertising and promotional activities including print, online, media, as well as direct mail, with a particular focus on brand positioning and achieving consistency across all platforms. In addition, you will lead all business development activity, including meeting with key clients, training and assisting the sales team and negotiating and closing deals. Candidates must have extensive experience in managing a P&L, defining budgets and preparing and forecasting sales and marketing results.

Requirements

To be considered for this role you must hold a Degree in marketing, business administration or a relevant field, with at least 5 years commercial experience in manufacturing, preferably within a leadership position. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse team, communicate effectively with colleagues and clients at all levels, and showcase an entrepreneurial spirit with a goal driven approach.
