Head Of Legal Compliance - Nairobi

Our client is a major global IT company looking to add a member to the team and to oversee all legal support for the East, West and Central Africa markets. Reporting to the General Counsel for EMEA you will be supporting the business units with diverse transactions.

Core responsibilities include advising company Regional Management on various regulatory, corporate governance, risk management, business ethics, contracting and other legal matters; Leading a team of two legal counsels

Requirements

• Lawyer to be based in Nairobi or Lagos

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Legal degree. Admission to practice in one of the countries in the region considered as an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years Post Qualification Experience
• Fluent in English. French would be an advantage.
• Prior exposure to supporting business operations within Africa would be useful
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with senior executives and cross-functional set of colleagues
• Inherent leadership skills and ability to build effective legal & compliance function.
• Proven ability to build strong and effective relationships with clients and internal business partner
