FSRI is the leading multidisciplinary organization for rehabilitation services, counseling and psychological services, research, and health promotion in Kuwait and the Gulf region. It seeks to expand its mental health services with the addition of a Behavioral Therapist to work at FSRI’s Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC).

The Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Centre is a multidisciplinary program that provides comprehensive treatment for babies, children, and adolescents, including physical therapy, speech therapy, psychology and occupational therapy. CERC uses a multidisciplinary approach to treat children with a range of concerns including development disabilities (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disabilities), physical disabilities (e.g., cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and muscular dystrophy), behavioral problems, and learning differences. The behavioral therapist will join CERC’s team and provide children diagnostic assessments/evaluations, counseling and behavioral therapy, family counseling, and school-based interventions/consultations.

Job Description:
- Provide behavioral therapy to children with special needs including physical, behavioral, emotional, intellectual and/or developmental difficulties.
- Conduct psychological assessments for learning disabilities, ADHD, and developmental disabilities.
- Implement behavioral intervention plans and develop data collection systems to measure progress.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary FSRI/CERC staff, outside service providers, and clients’ families to ensure consistency of intervention plans.
- Communicate with funding sources regarding client progress, reports, and meetings.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines set forth by a recognized professional body.
- Attend professional meetings at CERC, FSRI, and schools.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, or hold certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Two years post-master’s experience working with children with special needs and developing and implementing behavior intervention plans.

Experience developing parent training on how to implement intervention plans. Strong writing skills with ability to write relevant goals and treatment plans and experience providing services in home and school settings is preferred. Fluency in Arabic would be a plus. The start date is flexible but an immediate start is preferred.
