Business Development Analyst

Job description / Role

Candidate will be an integral position of the research & Analyst team. Occupant is required to play a team role in achieving corporate and departmental goals while keeping up with the performance standards expected by clients and industry. The job entails identifying and analyzing potential, high growth and high return investment opportunities for clients as well as for the company. Endeavor to identify and accomplish high fee generating business.

Direct and coordinate business development activities within Kuwait & GCC markets, and is responsible for introducing new investment funds as well as new investment tools in accordance with the company strategy in order to maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Structuring new financial instruments or hybrid financial instruments for return generation for clients.
- Assessing the current economic and business environment and analyzing their effect on the capital markets.
- Provide commentaries of the direction of markets, the relative attractiveness of investments in different sectors, and the impact of economic circumstances on each industry, advising institutional investors on strategies to maximize profit and minimize risk in their portfolios.
- Conduct feasibility studies and credit analysis reports.
- Study& examine the financial statements.
- Identifying and analyzing investment opportunities.
- Undertaking, organizing and conducting merger & acquisition projects.
- Undertaking capital re-structuring assignments
- Interacting with clients to maintain relationship and catering to ad hoc client requirements
- Negotiate terms and conditions of mandates
- Prepare proposals.
- May recommend modification to department investment policy, and may specialize in a specific investment area.
- Supervising major assignments relating to the above
- Collaborate with the Treasury, Real Estate and Product & Business Development unit to structure new financial instruments.
- Setting up and managing a team of research analysts.
- Plan, develop and implement new investments ideas.
- Direct and coordinate promotion of new investment products and services in order to obtain and maintain a competitive position in the investment industry.
- Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, and economic conditions, for use in making investment decisions, in addition to determining prospects for future growth, and assists in maintenance of fund.
- Gather necessary information from divisional records, outside sources, and financial reports.
- Prepare snapshot research on listed companies.
- Interpret data concerning price, yield, stability, and future trends of investments.
- May recommend modification to department investment policy, and may specialize in a specific investment area.
- Facilitating incorporation of new companies.
- Interacting with clients to maintain relationship and catering to ad hoc client requirements
- Prepare department capital budget and plans the financial forecast.
- Interfaces with SVP to revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
- Build a workflow procedure for the product and business development unit.
- Execute other duties as per the SVP instructions.
- Increase asset under management.
- Team with Sales, and Marketing, to sell the Investment & Fund Management Product.

Requirements

- A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business, and CFA is desirable.
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and an affinity for numbers
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Fluent in both Arabic and English
- Computer skills
- Be able to develop ideas in a concise and meaningful conceptual framework.  Have a comprehensive knowledge of investment analysis, economic principles, company and industry trends, market judgment and sense of market timing.
- Show initiative and have a high degree of judgment.
