Job Description

Develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching chemistry at secondary grade levels. Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.

Meet with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve any possible behavioral or academic problems. Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences in order to maintain and improve professional competence. Establish and enforce rules for class management and student behavior. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry from a recognized university
  • Teaching qualification from one of the following countries: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA, and Scandinavian countries (due to visa restrictions)
  • Must have excellent English communication skills and could pass an IELTS at level 6.5
  • Must have excellent classroom management skills and be able to deal effectively with student behavior issues

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience in chemistry at secondary grade levels
  • Is culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible, and able to work in a continuously changing environment

Monthly Salary Range:

  • Tax-free monthly salary ranging from KD 725 - 1175 depending on qualifications and years of experience.

Housing:

  • Furnished 2-bedroom apartment or housing allowance of KD 125 monthly (rent is not expensive in Kuwait).

Transportation:

  • Transportation provided to school from school accommodation.

Utilities:

  • Utilities paid for by school if staying in school accommodation.

Health Insurance Coverage:

  • Medical insurance for employee only (medical insurance is not expensive in Kuwait).

Annual Air Tickets:

  • Annual return airfare to home country for employee only.

Leave:

  • Annual summer vacations, winter and spring breaks, all government and religious holidays, sick leave, bereavement leave, and personal days are paid for in accordance with labor laws, school policy, and procedures.

Dependent School Fees:

  • Tuition discount of 50% for up to two children attending the same school as employee.

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

  • Resident visa fees will be paid for employee only when done in Kuwait. Employee is responsible for dependent fees.

End Of Service Benefit:

  • 1 month basic salary for each year worked at end of service according to labor law of the country.

Contract Period:

  • 1 year contract - renewable.

Location:

  • Kuwait City.

Paperwork Requirements:

  • Notarized and attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage, and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements.

Start Date:

  • August 2025.
