Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Contract Manager will be responsible for leading a team (or teams) in delivering a series of Sewage Treatment and Water Storage facilities safely, on time, to a high standard and within budget. The primary responsibility of the Contract Manager is to ensure that the Main Contractors deliver the facilities on time and in accordance with Contract documentation. The Contract Manager will head up a team to administer, monitor and supervise the project to ensure the project objectives are met.

The Project will report directly to the Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities

Construction:
• Establish an effective team to manage and administer the contract.
• Set up project specific procedures.
• Work with the Main Contractor to ensure all contractual requirements are met. This will include, but not be limited to, submittal and approval procedures, quality control and assurance procedures, health and safety procedures, change control and payment procedures, reporting procedures, testing commissioning and handover procedures.
• Prepare monthly reports to identify progress, quality and risk.
• Work with the cost department to forecast cost, assess claims, and manage risk and change.
• Manage the contract administration.
• Assume the role of the Engineer.
• Assist with the Ministry approval process and ensure all Ministry requirements are met.
• Manage the commissioning and handover process

Pre-construction:
• Review and comment on design and contract documentation
• Assist in Tender Preparation and award
• Identify the team required to manage and administer the contract.

Requirements

• 4 year Civil Engineering Degree
• Min. 10 years of experience in the delivery of civil infrastructure and/or building works.
• Experience of similar wastewater or water treatment facilities.
• Proven communication skills with a high functioning and technical grasp of the English language.
• A history of working abroad and large multi-cultural teams is preferred.
• A strong working knowledge of the FIDIC suite of contracts.
