Employment: Full Time


The Editorial Officer is responsible and accountable for translating, creating, and improving the online content for all brands, as well as editing and proofreading current content such as website content, marketing promotions/campaigns, newsletters, and SEO articles to achieve the company's objectives. Their duties include communicating and dealing with other internal and external teams (i.e. Marketing, Merchandising, Design, Copy, Web Content Development, Product Management, and IT) to ensure brand voice consistency. The editorial officer can complete tasks within set deadlines and use the proper tools and software to aid their process

This role:

- Working together on the Arabic content production of eCommerce websites of Alshaya group.
- Following the defined tone of voice and guidelines for every brand/category.
- Taking ownership and responsibility of all tasks related to Arabic content for products and marketing.
- Working closely with the business teams such as Content team, Development team, Design other teams to create and publish engaging online content.
- Ensuring the quality of the content.
- Regularly testing the websites and mobile apps to maintain Arabic content consistency and quality.
- Editing and developing compelling editorial content intended for use in social media platforms and other platforms as required.
- Using many CAT Tools to improve the efficiency of content processes.
- Maintaining accurate calendars, schedules, and communication documents.



- Translating content for blogs, articles, app descriptions, social media, product descriptions, and other marketing materials for the company's websites.
- Being sensitive to the culture of the original language and the target language during the translation process.
- Proofreading translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.


- Assisting the marketing team in developing Arabic content for advertising campaigns.
- Translating promotional content for websites and social media platforms such as social media captions, website banners, SMSs, newsletters, paid search copy, and E-mails.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to meet deadlines provided in social media calendars.
- Ensuring that all communications and marketing material aligns with brand standards.


- Writing a customer-oriented copy describing products in a promotional and engaging way.
- Researching and understanding the target audience and writing a copy that connects with them and drives action.
- Maintain voice consistency of each brand while writing an error-free and persuasive content for the company's websites.

Building glossaries:

- Building glossaries and master files that include data of all previously translated content will serve as a reliable reference in the translation process.
- Ensure glossaries and master files are regularly updated for all brands.
- Regularly check master files to guarantee alignment throughout data.

Writing articles:

- Write clear, concise, objective, and accurate articles that adhere to the company's guidelines and are in line with the company's goals.
- Abide by the SEO guidelines and keywords in writing and translation to increase web traffic.
- Conduct high-quality research with the SEO and content team.
- Edit and proofread articles as needed.

Job requirements

- Proficiency in written and spoken Arabic and English languages is a mandatory requirement.
- Computer proficiency (Excel, MS Office, Web search).
- Degree in English Language and Literature, Linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
- Previous working experience in copywriting and translation.
