FSRI is the leading multidisciplinary organization for rehabilitation services, counseling and psychological services, research, and health promotion in Kuwait and the Gulf region. It seeks to expand its mental health services with the addition of a full-time Educational Psychologist.

The Educational Psychologist will work full-time at Al-Bayan Bilingual School, which was established in 1977 and was the first bilingual school in the GCC region. Al-Bayan Bilingual School currently consists of a Pre- Nursery – 12th grade located on two state-of-the-art campuses in Jabriya and Hawalli, and has an enrollment of more than 2200 students. The Educational Psychologist will be responsible for providing clinical services to students, families, and Al-Bayan Bilingual School staff. This will include conducting brief diagnostic assessments and screenings, providing consultation to students, families, and Al-Bayan staff, providing professional development and support services to school staff, serving as a liaison to Al-Bayan and FSRI, and making referrals to appropriate community-based services.

Job Description:
- Provide individual and family counseling with children and adolescents.
- Conduct screenings for learning disabilities, ADHD, and developmental disabilities.
- Implement behavioral management plans and provide clinical recommendations to school staff.
- Provide professional development and support services to school staff.
- Collaborate with the other FSRI Educational Psychologist housed at Fawzia Sultan International School.
- Liaise between Al-Bayan Bilingual School, Fawzia Sultan International School, and FSRI.
- Develop intervention strategies to promote social and emotional development and improve educational standards.
- Attend child study meetings.

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess at least a master’s degree in psychology, a mental health license (or license-eligible) in their country of origin, and have at least 2 years of postgraduate clinical experience with psychoeducational assessments. Although fluency in Arabic would be an asset, it is not a requirement for this position. Preferred start date is September 1st, 2016.

Requirements:
- Possess a masters degree in psychology from an accredited university.
- Possess a mental health license or be licensed-eligible.
- 2 years of postgraduate clinical experience working with children in an educational setting and psychoeducational testing.
- Completed graduate-level coursework in psychoeducational assessment at an accredited university.
- Graduate-level training in conducting psychoeducational assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of working in a nonprofit organization
